WHAT IS THE “GOLDEN HOUR” AND HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF IT?
The Golden Hour is a period of time that occurs just after sunrise and just before sunset. More precisely, it indicates (approximately) the first and last hour of sunshine of each day. During this short time, the amount of ambient light makes any type of photo shoot look more beautiful, giving it a romantic and mystical aura.

WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENS DURING GOLDEN HOUR?
This particular luminous phenomenon occurs thanks to the angle of the sun; that is, when it is between 6° above and 4° below the plane of the horizon.
The sun’s rays hit the earth at a very close inclination and pass through a thicker layer of atmosphere before reaching an exact point on the Earth’s surface. This light encounters huge amounts of atmospheric particles such as dust, water and gas, which inevitably make the light softer, giving a surreal and magical effect, rich in shades ranging from red to purple.

WHY IS IT CALLED GOLDEN HOUR?
The expression Golden Hour, also called Magic Hour, takes its name from the golden color of sunlight during 2 precise moments of the day. The ambient light appears very soft, diffused and warm, enveloping the landscape and increasing its charm.
If you decide to take a picture of a natural landscape or a city skyline, you will notice a strong contrast with the sky. In a portrait photo you will notice how the effect of diffused light softens the facial features.
